I’m an award-winning writer, speaker, and facilitator whose work explores baby loss, being a parent carer, and the power of storytelling. My work has featured across the BBC, Substack, and chart-topping culture podcasts.

In 2025, I won the Allyson Kent Prize for Fearless Writing at the Alnwick Story Fest, for my deeply personal essay on love and loss. I’ve also been shortlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction Prize and the Curae Literary Prize, and longlisted for the Motherhood Uncensored competition.

Beyond the page, I co-host the TV and film review podcast The Honeymoon Period with my husband, Mark. The show has been featured in The Guardian and Film Stories.

When I’m not writing or podcasting, I’m is a multi-award-winning Associate Professor and National Teaching Fellow with a PhD in storytelling as research. I’m a sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator, known for my openness, empathy, humour, and ability to help others share difficult stories.

I live in the North East of England with my family.
